Artist Highlight: Aizat Haris
Aizat Haris
Aizat Haris is a DIY recording artist and composer from Kuala Belait, Brunei Darussalam. He has played under several monikers but he is mostly known for his work under the name Mirror Trash. Inspired by musicians like Frankie Cosmos, Castlebeat and Surfvampires, he started recording and uploading songs under the moniker Bipolaroidz, which has managed to get the attention of underground Netlabel Marly Records in 2016.
In 2018 Aizat changed the name from Bipolaroidz to Mirror Trash. Whilst studying at university in the United Kingdom, Aizat frequented local shows in Carlisle, Cumbria and started performing under the name Mirror Trash. Through playing small shows and open mic nights, he had managed to evolve Mirror Trash from a solo project to a full band in 2019. Due to a pact made between Aizat and his bandmates, Aizat refuses to release songs under the name Mirror Trash without the rest of his bandmates' input, which led to his first solo release in 2021 under his own name.
Having played a number of gigs both in the UK and in South East Asia, Aizat Haris music has been aired on different radio stations from different countries such as Canada (CILU-FM), United States (DKFM) and United Kingdom (BBC Radio Cumbria). From 2015 onwards, Aizat has released over 13 albums and EPs scattered all over the internet.
